Biography - Jeffrey McKenzie

Dr. Jeffrey McKenzie is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at McGill University. Jeffrey is a hydrogeologist with research focused on cryohydrogeology – the study of the interactions between climate change and groundwater in cold regions. In addition to numerical modeling, Jeffrey has research sites in the glaciated Andes in South America and permafrost regions in the North.
Jeffrey received a B.Sc. from McGill University, and a Ph.D. from Syracuse University. He was a Byrd Polar Research Fellow at The Ohio State University before becoming a faculty member at McGill University. From 2015 to 2017, Jeffrey was a McGill University Trottier Institute Fellow for Science and Public Policy, and he is currently the Secretary of the Canadian Geophysical Union.
