Biography - Jeffrey McKenzie

Jeffrey McKenzie is a Professor in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at McGill University. Jeffrey is a hydrogeologist with research focused on cryohydrogeology – the study of the interactions between climate change and groundwater in cold regions. In addition to numerical modeling, Jeffrey has research sites in the glaciated Andes in South America and permafrost regions in the North.
Jeffrey received a B.Sc. from McGill University, and a Ph.D. from Syracuse University. He was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Byrd Polar and Climate Research Center at The Ohio State University before becoming a faculty member at McGill University. From 2016 to 2022, Jeffrey was the Chair of his department, and in 2021 he became a Fellow of the Geological Society of America.
