Biography - Jeffrey McKenzie
Jeffrey McKenzie is a Professor in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at McGill University. Jeffrey is a hydrogeologist with a research focus on cryohydrogeology – the study of the interactions between climate change and groundwater in cold regions. Jeffrey incorporates numerical modeling with research sites in the glaciated Andes in South America and permafrost regions in Northern Canada.
Jeffrey received a B.Sc. from McGill University, and a Ph.D. from Syracuse University. He was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Byrd Polar and Climate Research Center at The Ohio State University before becoming a faculty member at McGill University. From 2016 to 2023, Jeffrey was Department Chair and in 2021 he became a Fellow of the Geological Society of America.
